Some say that the Mayan Long Count Calendar, which ended December 21, 2012 of the Julian Calendar, prophesied the end of the world. At this time of the year, doomsday predictions surface again. As far as the Maya Calendar, however, the Mayan Grand Elder, Wandering Wolf, explained that the calendar simply represented a complete cycle. This signifies a shift in world consciousness and the beginning of a new cycle. Thus, the calendar starts over again. A concept similar to the Hindu Yugas.
